Procedure for responding to an oil spill:
- Place the material with the absorbent layer facing the oil spill and let it work. The liquid is quickly absorbed into the fabric until the absorbent capacity is fully saturated (the fabric will turn a uniform dark color).
- Regenerate the saturated pads. Remove the saturated pads from the surface, fold them, and wring them out. Regeneration by wringing out the pads minimizes the amount of sorbent used and separates the captured liquid.
- Replace when fully saturated. Remove the used pads and place them in a prepared hazardous waste container.
Dispose of used material in accordance with applicable regulations!
